Raised in Milan Italy, Pierpaolo Tiano began studying piano at the age of six. At eighteen, Pierpaolo enrolled at UCLA earning a degree in Music and Economics.  His postgraduate work includes studies in Composing & Arranging and Jazz Piano at the Grove School of Music.  While at Grove, Pier apprenticed Barend Ross, with whom he collaborated on numerous cartoons for Walt Disney.

 

Pierpaolo went on to score the soundtracks to films including LOVE & SEX, directed by Valerie Breimann, starring Famke Janssen (James Bond, X-Men) and Jon Favreau (director of Iron Man I and II, writer and star of Swingers), COCK AND BULL STORY, directed by Billy Hayes, who wrote the autobiographical story for Alan Parkers film Midnight Express and  MINERS MASSACRE, directed by John Carl Buechler of the FRIDAY THE 13th series.  He subsequently composed music for the NBC series PROVIDENCE while also collaborating on various studio projects with multi-Academy Award and Grammy Award winning composer Giorgio Moroder.

 

Pierpaolo also composed music for WONDERFALLS, an original FOX TELEVISION series, created by Bryan Fuller (Heroes), Todd Holland (creator of Malcolm in the Middle) and Tim Minear (writer and director for Firefly and Angel), as well as being featured in the Walt Disney film Princess Diaries II Royal Engagement with his song "JUMP".

 

More recently Pierpaolo worked on The Time Tunnel a FOX pilot, released with the remastered release of original 1960s series, The Time Tunnel, The Amazing Screw-On Head, an animated series for SciFi Channel, created by Mike Mignola (Hell Boy), starring the voices of Paul Giamatti, David Hyde Pierce and Molly Shannon, and several installment of the critically acclaimed video game for SONY Playstation Ratchet & Clank.

 

Pierpaolos TV commercial work includes spots for Land Rover, Jagermeister, Tod's Handmade, Gatorade, UPS, Audi, BMW, Rocher, Yamaha, Mercedes, General Motors, Hyundai, Amazon, Virgin Radio and Fox Network.
